Early School of Nursing Student, 1895-1897

Christiana Watermann was born in Charleston, SC, in 1862. She entered the newly founded Charleston Training School for Nurses at City Hospital in 1895 and graduated in 1897. Watermann continued her postgraduate training in New York City and went on to a private duty position in 1901. She remained in New York for 15 years.
