Description: The Paw Paw tree is a deciduous tree. They can grow between 15 and 30 feet tall. Paw Paw's produce small, dark, maroon-colored flowers with an unpleasant aroma. Their green, smooth ovalshaped fruit tastes like bananas and is edible towards the end of the summer season.

Range and Habitat: Paw Paw trees are native to the Eastern United States. This tree prefers full sun to part shade. Zones 4-9

In Porcher’s time… The pulp of the Paw Paw tree was used as a topical application in ulcers.
