Description: Pomegranate is a deciduous shrub. Between 12-20' tall with scarlet red to orange flowers this plant flowers in midspring to fall and fruits are ready for harvest between August and October.

Range and Habitat: Pomegranate is native to the Mediterranean region. This shrub prefers at least 6 hours of direct light per day. Zones 7-10

In Porcher’s time… Pomegranate's bark, on the root, was a well known astringent. It was believed to help with dysentery and diarrhea.
