Permission to Publish Waring Materials
The Waring Historical Library is pleased to support non-profit uses of our images and materials. No use fees are charged for organizations able prove their not-for-profit status by providing suitable documentation. No use fees are charged for use of the Waring Historical Library’s holdings in:
- student papers, theses, and dissertations,
- scholarly works addressed to limited audiences,
- official publications by the Medical University of South Carolina, the State of South Carolina, or local government agencies in South Carolina,
- for exhibition in museums.
Commercial publications include books and other printed materials and other media created by for-profit enterprises, including but not limited to commercial publishing houses and production companies. Before a commercial reproduction order will be processed, a completed Request for Permission to Publish must be submitted to the Waring Historical Library staff.
There are no fees for the non-profit use of our images. Commercial use may require pre-payment of use fees. See list of Publication Fees. If you have questions about how your project or use will be considered, please contact the library.
