The ninth floor of the new teaching hospital was designated for treating children. It had an isolation ward, and its own operating room. Here nurses demonstrate the use of two types of incubators. In the foreground is an “Isolette” where the nurse handled the baby by inserting her hands through special gaskets. In the background is a standard incubator, where the child is handled by lifting the top.
